Here are the steps to invest in Sri Lankan Stock Exchange

* First You need to be 18+ and Resident of Sri Lanka ( Non Residents also can invest in CSE. But there are certain rules and regulations for Non Residents )

* Open a CDS Account - You need to have a CDS account in order to trade shares. In order to open a CDS account you need to register with one of the stock brokers in Sri Lanka. You can find the list of Sri Lankan stock brokers after the explanation below.

* Your broker will provide CDS Form 01 & CDS Form 01 A along with KYC ( Know your client ) forms to fill up in order to open up a account at CDS 

* You also need to submit your proof of identity documents ( National ID or Passport copies ) & proof of residence ( phone,electricity or other bills mentioned your name and address ) to your broker

*Upon submitting documents it may take some time to process you account.

*After approval of  your account at CDS, you can deposit money to your broker account and start trading

*Also you can request online trading from your broker. Some brokers may provide it free while others with a monthly or annual fee
